Webinfosys's local News : Antony faints during the passing out parade at NDA

KHADAKVASLA: Defence Minister A K Antony fainted during the passing out parade ceremony at the National Defence Academy here on Saturday morning and was rushed to a hospital, officials said.

After receiving the parade and conferring medals on cadets of the 114th batch, Antony slumped on the dais and officials around him immediately brought a chair for him to sit, they said.

Antony regained his consciousness after sometime and insisted on continuing the ceremony. He, however, again slumped after a few minutes and started vomiting on the dais.

The 68-year-old Defence Minister was immediately rushed to the military hospital located within the campus, they said.

Antony's condition was stated to be stable and he was doing fine, officials sources quoted doctors at the hospital as saying.
